As the first leaves begin to fall and the air grows cooler, September reminded us that change—both beautiful and challenging—is in the air. Fall can be a season of mixed emotions: a little nostalgia, a little heaviness, and plenty of transitions. That’s why this month, through the September Affirmations series, we focused on grounding truths that help us find steadiness in uncertain times.
Each week brought a new affirmation, offering a gentle reminder to pause, breathe, and realign. Here’s what we practiced together:
Week 1: “I don’t have to earn rest.”
We began the month by challenging the guilt that often comes with slowing down. Rest isn’t a prize for productivity—it’s a human need. Many of you shared how freeing it felt to claim this truth and release the pressure of “always doing.”
Week 2: “I can feel this and still be okay.”
Mid-September, we leaned into emotional resilience. This affirmation reminded us that big feelings—grief, anger, anxiety—don’t have to consume us. They rise, they peak, and they pass. And through it all, we are still here. Still okay.
Week 3: “I get to take up space.”
This week was all about permission—permission to use your voice, to hold your boundaries, and to honor your presence. Many readers resonated with the idea that shrinking ourselves doesn’t serve anyone. Expansion is both brave and necessary.
Week 4: “I’m not behind. I’m on my own timeline.”
As September came to a close, we wrapped the series by tackling the trap of comparison. Social media, career milestones, relationships—all of these can leave us feeling “behind.” But the truth is: your pace is your own, and your path is valid.
What September Taught Us
This month, we learned that affirmations are more than words—they’re anchors. They help us shift perspective, soften self-talk, and reconnect with compassion. Fall doesn’t have to feel heavy if we approach it with intention and care.
As we move into October, let’s carry these truths with us:
- Rest is a right, not a reward.
- Emotions don’t define us; they move through us.
- Your presence matters—you belong.
- Your timeline is your own, and that’s enough.
